Road to Michigan

Peshtigo Wisconsin was an interesting stop for us.  The city owned, Badger RV Park and many of the RVs were decorated for Christmas.  Seems it was a family reunion and that was their theme for the weekend.  I did not get a chance to take pictures of the RVs, but did get some of the campground.
After dinner and showers we went walking around in town.  Sunday evening and not much happening here.  We soon found ourselves in front of the Fire Museum.  This town suffered much loss of property and many of the inhabitants lost their lives during an enormous forest fire. Unfortunately, the museum was closed when we arrived there.  Oh well, another time ....

Next stop on our eastward roll was Sault Ste Marie, Michigan.  This is our second time here to watch the tankers moving materials thru the Soo Locks.  We camped at the city Aune-Osborn campground, which is right on the St Mary River.  It's pretty relaxing to sit in your lawn chair and watch the boats glide by.  At least we think so.  First night we ate at the Antlers(see pic below), where I had yummy walleye fish and Fred had a burger. Second night we ate at Frank's Place and had the spaghetti pie for two.  We had some again last night and still have another nights worth.  Guess we would say it was more for 4 than 2.

We're now near Ann Arbor and will be meeting some friends that we met while at Bettys' RV in Abbeville La.  Looking forward to sharing travel/camping stories.

Tomorrow we're off to Ohio.  First stop is to visit Warren G Hardings home. Then on to visit some Inman family who live near Cincinnati.

Onward we roll,
Michelle and Fred
